Lunchtime Knitting

Workshop Dates: February 15, 22, 29 (12:30PM – 1:30PM)

Discover the joy of knitting and connect with other in your community in this three-part workshop. By the end of the program, participants will not only have a newfound passion for knitting but also a set of valuable skills and a completed knitted hat. All materials are provided.

In the first class, participants will learn the basics of knitting including the vocabulary of knitting, how to cast on, knit and purl stitch, how to measure and swatch, and how to bind off.  

In the second class, we will discuss the structure and process of knitting a hat, how to read a pattern, and begin knitting an original design by the instructor with a unique acorn stitch. 

In the final class, we will continue working on the hat, learn how to decrease for the crown, and complete the project.

Bio

Evelyn has been a knitter and knitwear designer for the past twenty years, and has enjoyed teaching beginners and advanced beginners the joy of knitting. She has made items from toys and baby clothes to accessories and adult sweaters and loves introducing the beauty of this craft to others.
