Meet the Artist! -- Jim Christopher

Original watercolors by Jim Christopher will be featured during the month, along with dozens of prints from his original work on art cards. Opening reception is October 4th from 6-8 pm.

Jim Christopher took his first watercolor art classes at the Kapalua Art Institute while on vacation in Maui in 2004 and was captivated by the medium. When he and his spouse, Carole, moved to Virginia Beach later that year, he continued classes and workshops both locally and in other parts of the country. In 2023, he relocated back to New England and now lives in Simsbury, CT.

Jim's art style has evolved. Experimenting with color and light combinations and various patterns result in what he calls "expressive" art. Techniques of pouring, wet on wet, Brusho and scraping enhance traditional compositions. Subject matter may be spontaneous or more traditional but the style remains expressive.
